Welcome to Amarillo!

Welcome to the American Council of the Blind Thrift Store in Amarillo, Texas, your go-to destination for unique, affordable, and sustainable fashion and home goods. Established in 1985, our thrift store has been a beloved part of the Amarillo community for almost 40 years.

Our goal is to provide a clean, organized, and friendly store where pre-loved items can find new homes, reducing waste and promoting a more sustainable lifestyle. From vintage clothing and accessories to one-of-a-kind home decor, every item in our store has a story to tell.

In 2023 and again in 2024 the Amarillo community voted us the "Best Thrift Store" in Amarillo and the "Best Secondhand Clothing Store" in Amarillo! We are honored by this acknowledgement.

Tuesday

Every Tuesday is our Thrifty Fifty Sale. All guests age 50+ receive a 35% discount off their purchase.

Sunday

Every Sunday is a Store Wide Clothing Sale. Discounts are based on barb color and range between 25%-75% Off.

Thursday

Every Thursday is our Kids Day Sale. All kids size clothes and shoes are 99₵ and all other kids items are 25% Off.

Everyday

As appreciation for their service, we offer a daily 10% discount to active-duty military members and veterans.

Donate

We gladly accept donations of new or gently used items in the following categories: Clothing, Shoes, Accessories, Jewelry, Kitchenware, Housewares, Collectibles, Art, Furniture, Linens, Electronics, Books, Movies, Music, Sporting Goods, Seasonal/Holiday, Games/Toys, Craft/Hobby Outdoor/Garage, and Medical Equipment.

Donations are accepted at our donation door Monday-Saturday 9am-4:30pm and inside the store from 4:30pm-7pm. On Sunday's donations can be dropped off in the store between 12pm-5pm. All donors will receive a donation receipt.

Free Donation Pick-up

Looking to make a donation but can't make it to the store. No worries. We offer a FREE donation pickup service. Just call the store at (806) 371-7707 to schedule a pickup. Some restrictions apply.

Volunteer

Looking to give back to your community? Have a passion for books, clothing, electronics, etc.? Do you like organizing? Whatever the reason, spending a few hours volunteering is a rewarding experience the benefits a great cause.

Our volunteers can help out when it's convenient and can work in an area that suits their interests.

Individuals, couples, families, church groups, school clubs, sports teams, and businesses are all welcome to volunteer. Those under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult over 21.
